The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast (BGCEC) needed to update up their brand image and awareness so they came back to Firestorm for a fresh, re-invented website.
Firestorm and the Boys & Girls Club has had a great relationship from the start. When we first met the staff and saw what kind of work they were doing for the kids in our community, we knew we had to be a part of it.
The Boys & Girls Club is an incredible organization that helps kids from all backgrounds with great programs geared towards education, wellness and character. Their mission is: “To inspire and enable all young people, their families and their community to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.“
Most people have no idea what they do…that’s where we came in.
The Challenge
To take the organizations image from a place in the past and bring it to a fresh, new and exciting place that appeals to donors, parents and kids today. Bring higher awareness of the clubs and their programs to the community. BGCEC also wanted to give the staff control of the website so that content stays fresh, and events and fundraisers are always promoted early and often. Last but not least, BGCEC wanted a way to allow user donate and pay right on their website.
The Solution
We took the design brief and a little bit of BGCEC schwag back the studio and started kicking ideas around on the whiteboard. Pulling inspiration from their brand new facilities design, their existing color scheme and of course the kids we made some creative, and bold changes to the current site. We forged a site built on CSS and XHTML with a extremely robust and powerful Content Management System that controls everything from the text on the pages, to the images in the rotating banners, dynamic slideshows and video players that play corporate and local commercials like the latest commercial we did for them.
We integrated a custom payment gateway into the site so their supporters and members could give from the website. All in all, a pretty sweet new site for the Boys & Girls Club to call home.
